Halloween at Colette Gardens
During the autumn half-term holidays, come and celebrate Halloween at the Jardins de Colette from 19 October to 1 November 2026!
Just 10 minutes from Brive-la-Gaillarde, enjoy a monstrously fun programme to share with family or friends in a park entirely decked out in Halloween colours, organised by the Jardins team. New this year: the decorations will also be on display inside the maze.....
Every year, the Gardens organise activities for this occasion that children love.

During the Halloween celebrations, Les Jardins de Colette are staging a show for the whole family, taking place at the Kiosque, in the open air:

Storytelling sessions
New this year: two storytelling sessions are on offer on Wednesday 28 October at 1.30 pm and 2.15 pm, suitable for all ages. Duration: 30 minutes.
Special Halloween treasure hunt
This treasure hunt is available from 19 October to 1 November 2026, from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, in paper format. Once you’ve solved the puzzles, you’ll receive a reward!
Halloween make-up
Halloween is all about fancy dress and transformations. Make-up artists will be in the Gardens for the occasion, offering free make-up sessions to create stunning looks.

- 1 November from 2 pm to 6 pm
Mask-making workshops
From Wednesday 21st to Friday 23rd October, from 3 pm to 5 pm, you can make a mask to personalise your fancy dress costume.
Pumpkin Decorating
Scary pumpkins, smiling pumpkins… You’re the artist! Les Jardins de Colette are running pumpkin-decorating workshops (for a fee) during the All Saints’ Day holidays. You decorate them and take them home with you.
- Every day from 19 October to 1 November, from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm and from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
Access conditions
- During the school holidays, the Gardens are open every day from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. Feel free to bring a picnic to make the most of a day out.
- There is a tea room on site where you can enjoy delicious crêpes and/or waffles
- Tickets can be purchased on the day or online via the Jardins de Colette website.
- On 31 October, the gardens are extremely popular. A diversion is in place to ease traffic flow and facilitate parking. To avoid the crowds, we recommend bringing a picnic and arriving during the lunch break. You’ll be able to make the most of the garden activities.

Tip Browse through Colette's gardens
The Jardins de Colette in Varetz invite you to combine literature and botany. It was in the elegant château of Castel Novel that the writer, renowned for her love of nature, lived with her husband. Are you ready? As well as the superb gardens, a butterfly-shaped labyrinth will make you lose your compass. Once you're free, you can enjoy a family picnic amongst the trees and have fun with the XXL-sized games. Not to mention the Halloween entertainment...
