Our weekend favourites
This weekend, the region is celebrating its heritage! Two themes are on offer during these European Heritage Days: ‘Photographic Heritage’, to mark the 200th anniversary of photography, and ‘Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine’.
As well as the special tours on offer this weekend, you can take part in walks, flea markets and performances. In short, there’s something for everyone to keep them busy over these three days!

Friday 18 September
Today’s fairs and/or markets: in Allassac all morning on the Place de la République and in Juillac from 4.30 pm to 7 pm (in the car park, opposite Vival).
- Guided tour of the Collegiate Church from 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm. Discover the Collegiate Church of Saint-Martin from a unique perspective. This tour takes you to the heart of a sanctuary town, where every stone tells a piece of history. On the programme: an in-depth and detailed description of the architecture, its secrets and its hidden treasures. Something truly unusual awaits you, particularly in the crypt, for a genuine ‘secret tour’ off the beaten track. Combining religious heritage with fascinating anecdotes, this experience will delight those keen to gain a deeper understanding of Brive and to delve into the soul of its central monument.

tour - Guided tour of the Sanctuary of Saint Anthony: From 10.00 am, accompanied by one of the Franciscan friars, you can explore this place of pilgrimage set within a 5-hectare park. Free of charge. Contact: 05 55 24 10 60.
- Film and tea: ‘Les matins merveilleux’ at the Rex Cinema at 2.00 pm.
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Drama. In partnership with the CCAS of the town of Brive.
European Heritage Days on 18, 19 & 20 September
Among the many tours on offer this Friday, you can, for example, take part in the following activities:
- Glassblowing at L’Alchimiste: Free guided demonstrations on 18, 19 and 20 September at 9.30 am, 11 am, 2.30 pm, 4 pm and 5.30 pm.
Watch a live demonstration of the creation of a carved glass piece and a blown glass piece, accompanied by detailed, step-by-step explanations. - ‘Upright’ concert in the Jardins de la Guierle in Brive at 8.30 pm.

- Jazz club concert: “Les Accordés Swing” at the Espace Chadourne at 8.30 pm.
Take the all-time classics of French chanson and British pop from the 70s and 80s, give them a swing twist with a touch of gypsy jazz, and you get Les Accordés Swing.
Saturday 19 September
- Discover Brive’s main market on Place de la Guierle and in the Halle Georges Brassens.
Another market is also held on Place Thiers on Saturday mornings (in front of the Halle Gaillarde).
European Heritage Days on 18, 19 & 20 September

"Lupin vs Queen Victoria" escape game in Brive at 1.30 pm, 2 pm and 2.30 pm.
Players explore the town whilst solving puzzles that test their powers of observation, deduction and dexterity. Suitable for a wide audience (families, tourists, groups), this game offers a fun and original new perspective on the town.
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes. Meeting point: 36 Rue de la Jaubertie, Brive.
- Guided tour of Turenne at 3 pm: To mark Heritage Days, a tour of the village of Turenne is being offered. Duration: 1 hour. Special one-off price of €2. Meet in front of the visitor centre. No booking required.
- ‘Appelle tes copains’ concert in the Jardins de la Guierle in Brive at 8.30 pm.

Forget what you think you know. This show invites you to cross the boundary between reality and illusion. In an elegant and immersive atmosphere, Yann Magic weaves together visual effects, sleight of hand and surprises, right up close to the audience.
- Lissac sets the lake alight: Lac du Causse comes alive from 9 pm. On the programme: music by DJ Dav, a bar on site and, at 11 pm, a fireworks display over the lake. Meet at Moulin beach for this festive evening!
Sunday 20 September

- Flea markets: - Neighbourhood car boot sale

Organised by Les Chemins de Mansac, at the Mansac River near the Salle des Mille Clubs. Enquiries: 06 84 13 28 92. - The Rando des Vergnes in Saint Antoine from 9.30 am.
Organised by the A.A.E.A.E. des Vergnes in collaboration with the town of Brive, the departmental hiking committee and the southern villages district of Brive. Set off at your own pace from Saint-Antoine between 9.30 am and 10 am. A 15 km signposted route. Return to Saint-Antoine.

The second edition of this exceptional running event organised by CAB Athletics.
Two routes are on offer to suit all ability levels
: - 7 km (1 lap) for a manageable challenge
- 14 km (2 laps) for more experienced runners. Every participant will receive
a medal on completion.
Refreshments and food trucks will also be on hand to help you refuel after the race!
Race numbers can be collected between 8.00 am and 10.00 am at the lake’s water sports centre.
