Our weekend favourites
This weekend, the region is keeping the festivities going and there’s plenty going on. Make the most of the community fairs once again to choose your activities for the year, as well as the back-to-school events: rugby matches, comedy shows and a stroll through our traditional markets.

Friday 11 September
Today’s fairs and/or markets: in Allassac all morning on the Place de la République and in Juillac from 4.30 pm to 7 pm (in the car park, opposite Vival).
- Guided tour of the Saint-Antoine Sanctuary: From 10.00, you can explore this place of pilgrimage, set in a 5-hectare park, in the company of one of the Franciscan friars. Free. Contact: 05 55 24 10 60.
- Board games evening at the Salle Dumazaud (Brive) from 7 pm to 11 pm.
Come and enjoy a friendly evening playing board games! Strategy, thinking, teamwork or laughter guaranteed – there’ll be something for everyone. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, everyone is welcome. Free entry. Light refreshments and drinks available on site. - “Yvette Leglaire in Never morte” at L’improviste at 8.30 pm.
The last and most surreal of what were once known as the “realist” singers returns with a new show!
Halfway between stand-up comedy and a recital, this is a zany show that pays tribute to women with love and humour, but also plenty of self-deprecating humour.

The Sainte-Féréole Festival Committee invites residents and visitors to join them on 11, 12 and 13 September for its traditional village festival. At dusk, the Effiloché Circus will present a fire show. The evening will continue with music from Tout’la machine à danser.

Pro D2 Rugby Match: Brive v Stade Niçois Rugby at 7.30 pm.
On matchday 3 of the Pro D2 season, CAB Rugby will take on Stade Niçois Rugby. Come along and support your team.
Saturday 12 September
- Discover Brive’s main market on Place de la Guierle and in the Halle Georges Brassens.
Another market is also held on Place Thiers on Saturday mornings (in front of the Halle Gaillarde).
- Guided tour: Brive, its history and heritage at 10.30 am.
Brive has been a major thoroughfare in the Corrèze region since prehistoric times; the settlement, which began to form as early as the 5th century around the sanctuary of Saint Martin the Spaniard, took advantage of its location as a crossroads to flourish...
Meet at the Tourist Office on Place du 14 Juillet in Brive. Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.
COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS FAIRAs they do every year, the local councils are organising a community organisations fair to showcase the activities on offer in their areas:
- Allassac from 9.30 am to 12 noon at the Salle culturelle
- Malemort from 10 am to 5 pm at the Corrézium
- Saint Viance from 9 am to 3 pm in the HalleMagic Show by Yann Magic at L’Improviste from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
Forget everything you think you know. This show invites you to cross the boundary between reality and illusion. In an elegant and immersive setting, Yann Magic weaves together visual effects, sleight of hand and surprises, performing right up close to the audience.

- Concert at the Labenche Museum: Recital & piano. A lovely intimate event in the Tapestry Room at the Labenche Museum: vocals (Jade Navi, opera singer) and piano (Alma Bettencourt) performing works by Claude Debussy. At 4 pm. Admission: €8.

Back from Cannes at the Rex from 11 to 27 September 2026.
The Groupement National des Cinémas de Recherche (GNCR) enables its members to offer preview screenings of a selection of films featured in all the Cannes Film Festival 2026 selections (ACID, Directors’ Fortnight, Official Selection, Critics’ Week, etc.).
The Rex will be screening six films for this event:

Sunday 13 September

- Flea markets:

The Second-Hand Fair is an event dedicated to the circular economy, giving objects a second life, vintage items, upcycling and responsible consumption. - Brive Associations Fair at the Espace des Trois Provinces from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
With over 200 organisations taking part, this event offers a unique opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of Brive’s community organisations. Sport, culture, leisure, charity, the environment, education, civic engagement… there’s something for everyone, whether it’s an activity or a cause that speaks to you.
Free entry – Access for people with reduced mobility provided.
- Onion Festival at the Grottes de Saint Antoine from 10.30 am.
Mass at 10.30 am. Faith-based activities for children and blessing of school bags. Drinks and a communal meal. Enquiries: 05 55 24 10 60. - Feast of Saint Féréole: The day will be dedicated to street arts and family entertainment: magic and balloon modelling, face painting, a performance by the Fulmine group at 2.30 pm, the clown show *Fan de moi* by Les Burlexquis at 4.30 pm, followed by the *Juste Prix* prize draw at 5.30 pm. Fairground rides and food stalls available throughout the weekend.
- Nashovv – “Les autres c’est nous” at L’improviste at 5 pm.
Interactive stand-up | 1 hour 15 mins. NASHOVV is a self-taught comedian and coach who has been performing on stage for nine years; he engages, involves and challenges his audience with humour and kindness.
