Halloween is just round the corner (it’s 31 October, for those who’ve forgotten!), and the Pays Gaillard has no intention of letting the ghosts get the better of it without putting up a fight! From the lighthouse transformed into a haunted lair, to the Jardins de Colette and their tales of witches, not to mention the fancy-dress parties in the town centre’s bars, Brive and the surrounding area offer a packed programme for young and old alike. Here are all the events not to be missed during the All Saints’ Day holidays.

Celebrating Halloween in Corrèze with the family and the children

Thrills at the Lighthouse!

Will you dare to enter the lighthouse, transformed into a terrifying tower, overrun by shadows and mysteries? Only the bravest will venture to the very top, where Cruella, the Lighthouse Witch, resides!

But don’t worry, little monsters are welcome! From the age of 4–5, children can set off on an adventure with a game booklet full of puzzles and mysterious challenges. Their mission? To answer general knowledge questions, solve riddles and take on fun little challenges. With every correct answer, they’ll get closer to the secret word, with the ultimate clue hidden in Cruella’s lair at the top of the lighthouse. And if, by some miracle, they manage to complete all the challenges, a magical reward will be waiting for them! What’s more, if you come in fancy dress, the witch herself might well be impressed…

From Saturday 17th to Saturday 31st October, from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm. Free entry and activity booklet.

Halloween at Pompadour Castle

24 and 25 October 2026: Children’s afternoons!
– From 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm: Face-painting workshops, sessions every 15 minutes. (Limited places). Single price: €3.
– From 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm: Come and solve mysteries in the château grounds, with sessions at 2.00 pm, 3.00 pm, 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm. (Limited places). Prices: €8 / free for under-3s.
– 7.00 pm & 7.30 pm: Halloween light show on the castle façade. Prices: €3 per child and €5 per accompanying adult / free for under-3s. Not recommended for very young children.

A food court and funfair are also on the programme.

During the All Saints’ Day holidays, from 19 October to 1 November 2026, the team at Les Jardins de Colette has put together a monstrously fun programme of Halloween-themed activities. Put on your fancy dress and come and enjoy the many activities awaiting you at Les Jardins de Colette:

Halloween at the Lamy Chocolate Factory (Brive)

Lamy Chocolate Factory is running a chocolate-making workshop for children on Wednesdays 21 and 28 October from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm, as well as homemade biscuit-making workshops on Fridays 23 and 30 October from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Duration: 2 hours. The price for these workshops is €18.

For teenagers, the chocolate shop is running a chocolate mousse workshop on Saturday 24 October from 9.30 am to 12 noon. Price: €32. Duration: 2½ hours.

Halloween with the Vézère Ardoise Art and History Region: The Haunted Manor Escape Game

The Vézère Ardoise Art and History Region is organising an escape game in Allassac. Over 100 years ago, when the Manoir des Tours was a school, a few mischievous pupils played a funny trick on their teachers...They stole the golden slate, the school’s treasure, and hid it in a secret place… you have 45 minutes to help the ghostly teachers retrieve it and allow their souls to finally rest in peace!

From Monday 26 to Thursday 29 October at 9.30 am, 11 am, 1.30 pm, 3 pm and 4.30 pm
Prices: €15 / €10 for under-12s. 2 to 8 players per game. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Halloween Walk in St Robert

Saturday 31 October 2026 at 7.30 pm.
The PBC association is organising a 5km walk. This short night-time walk will take you on a journey to meet the ghosts, vampires and other creatures that haunt the paths.

From 18 to 31 October 2026, Halloween creatures are taking over Les Tours de Merle! Witches, ghosts, fantastical characters or completely mad ones…

A Werewolf role-playing game in Saint-Bonnet l’Enfantier on 30 October at 8.30 pm.

Free. To mark Halloween, the Vézère Ardoise Region of Art and History is hosting a new evening event inspired by the famous role-playing game ‘Les Loups Garous’. As night falls, villagers and werewolves will have to face off against one another… Will you be able to unmask the werewolves before it’s too late? Suitable for ages 12 and over. Special Halloween Bingo Evening in Malemort:

To mark Halloween, Malemort Library is organising a big bingo night. The proceeds will go towards supporting the Malemort Children’s Book and Games Fair.
There are plenty of prizes to be won (holidays, a Nintendo Switch, and more)! Something to delight young and old alike and enjoy a lovely evening in a festive atmosphere!

From 8.00 pm to 10.45 pm: Halloween party featuring a spectacular light show projected onto the château’s façade, a spooky ghost walk, and a disco at the Manège de l’Orangerie until 2.00 am. 31 October: Halloween party. La Banou’s haunted mansion is back… with its big fancy dress competition and a spine-chilling atmosphere! From 7 pm.

The Halloween Insect Hunt

31 October, 3pm to 6pm:
The Cité des Insectes in Nedde is organising a Halloween bug hunt, featuring insect tasting and other weird and wonderful treats, plus gifts for everyone!

On the programme:

Mutation Contest: Come dressed as hybrid creatures (half-human, half-insect)! The family with the most ‘monstrously transformed’ look will be chosen at 5.30 pm.
The Mutants’ Trail: An immersive treasure hunt through the museum and gardens to uncover the secrets of the most terrifying insects.
The Lair of Thrills: Hands-on activities and discoveries featuring the ‘monstrous’ insects of the vivarium (giant cockroaches, praying mantises, tiara stick insects…!).
The Banquet of Shadows: Round off the afternoon with an unusual tasting session: insect crisps, mysterious nectars and delicacies from the afterlife.

Halloween at the Aquarium! For two festive weeks, the aquarium will be fully decorated to get you in the Halloween spirit. Celebrating Halloween in the Lot

Halloween at the Presque Caves

30 and 31 October:
This year, Halloween will take place over two days and the interior of the cave will be decorated. Take part in the treasure hunt to decipher the hidden word in the cave and open the chest filled with sweets. Sweets guaranteed for all participants. Accompanying adults in fancy dress will be entitled to a reduced rate. Tours at 10.00, 11.00, 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00.

30 and 31 October:
Spend an extraordinary Halloween-themed evening with the animals at the vivarium. In small groups, you’ll wander the paths of Reptiland accompanied by a keeper to discover the enigmatic world of reptiles.

On Saturday 31 October, the park will be transformed for a big Halloween celebration!
