Seasonal produce calendar

It's autumn, and at Les Gaillards in Corrèze, we love food and festivities! These two passions are reflected in our autumn calendar, with a host of events and festivals to showcase our local produce in a convivial atmosphere.

Autumn calendar of gastronomic festivals

Apple Festival in Brive (3 October 2026)

  • This is the tenth year that this autumn fruit has been celebrated on a Saturday in October in the Place de la Collégiale. It’s a chance for visitors to enjoy apples in all sorts of ways (with pies, juice and compotes on sale).
  • Children aged 6 to 12 will also be able to take part in the pie-making competition.
  • A wide range of free activities are on offer throughout the day: a little train to take a ride round the town centre...

Apple and Cider Festival in Cublac (4 October 2026)

  • As well as the large car boot sale set up around the village, you can enjoy a market open all day selling apple juice (please bring your own bottle), apples, roasted chestnuts and more...
  • Light refreshments available on site. Raffle, bouncy castles and fairground stalls

The Baco Festival in Saint-Robert (11 October 2026)

  • The young Baco is a robust, early-ripening wine, harvested between late September and early October. It is deeply coloured, tannic, high in alcohol, with a slight bitterness. This festival takes the form of a festive market organised by numerous volunteers to allow everyone to enjoy a variety of produce: garlic spread, calf’s head, black pudding, crêpes, desserts… There is live music during the day.
  • This is the 32nd edition of the Bacco Festival. For the occasion, the festival is being held in the village square.
  • The Fête du Bacco Nouveau is also an opportunity to enjoy a festive day out in Saint-Robert, a village ranked amongst the most beautiful in France.

The Chabrignac Pumpkin Festival (17 and 18 October 2026)

Halloween’s star vegetable is celebrated in Chabrignac! The tradition is to hand out pumpkin seeds to local residents, who can then display their pumpkins during the festivities.

For this 30th edition, with a mix of entertainment and food, there’s something for everyone – young and old alike – at this festival. A few days before Halloween, the pumpkin takes centre stage in Chabrignac.

On the programme:

  • Saturday: in the morning, a ‘toast and jam’ walk (fresh bread and homemade jams); the afternoon is dedicated to children with the ‘Potirolympiades’ and a festive show by Les Bulles; followed by a dance in the evening.

  • Sunday: pumpkin weighing; opening ceremony; a meal (20 euros) prepared by volunteer chefs in the market hall; all day long, a banda, stallholders, a graffiti artist, fairground rides and various activities…

  • Numerous exhibitors will be on hand to showcase their products. Over the two days, the ‘bakers’ will knead and bake numerous batches of bread. The cucurbits will delight the public with their size, colour and originality.

The Autumn Festival in Vars-sur-Roseix (25 October 2026)

No fuss in Vars: it’s all about celebrating autumn’s bounty. Apple juice making and sales, chestnuts, Tourtous and blood sausages on sale, not to mention a ‘local produce’ market and a craft fair.

From 10.30 am to 6 pm on the Place de l’Église.
