The Corrèze greenway: a 17km route through Brive.

You can walk along the Corrèze through Brive-la-Gaillarde on the voie verte. This ribbon of road along the riverbank is a great way to enjoy the city in a different way, whether it's for pleasure or for sport... Families, onlookers and sports enthusiasts can take advantage of this protected route to travel from east to west and vice versa... the more adventurous can even start at the source, almost at Aubazine, and make their way to the confluence with the Vézère at Saint Pantaléon de Larche, for a total distance of 17 km.

Practical information :

  • Duration on foot: 4 hours
  • Length: 17 km
  • Duration by bike or mountain bike: 2 hours
  • Inflating station accessible at the Plaine des jeux des Bouriottes
  • Picnic areas (Plaine des jeux de Tujac, Ile du Roi, Halle Brassens, Espace des 3 Provinces, Plaine des jeux des Bouriottes)
  • Public toilets accessible near the Rosiers church and Halle Brassens
Cycling along the Brive greenway

The Vézère side of the voie verte: a 7 km section running alongside the Vézère river

The greenway is not yet connected to the sections that run along the Vézère towards Le Saillant... But you can now follow these sections from Saint-Viance towards the entrance to the Vézère gorges.

Practical information:

  • a 4 km protected circuit between the Barrage de Saillant and Allassac
  • a 3km circuit between Lasteyrie and Le Saillant.
  • Picnic areas: pont du Saillant, near the dam, Garavet, Saint-Viance
  • Public toilets available at Garavet and Le Saillant.

Development of the green route

The voie verte should evolve and we even dream of being able to promote a complete route towards the Dordogne to eventually reach Lascaux from Brive-la-Gaillarde, on foot or by bike... this is not yet possible on a continuous strip, but we are working on it.
