The Committed Moustaches
Tourism that makes sense
Welcome to an approach where conviviality meets responsibility. At Brive Tourisme, we believe that every gesture counts in preserving our beautiful region. Official labels may be a valuable guide, but they don't always tell the whole story...
Beyond Labels, a Commitment from the Heart
There are major distinctions such as theEuropean Ecolabel, the Clef Verte and Tourisme & Handicap. These are excellent indicators that we fully value.
However, we have noticed that many local service providers are acting with remarkable fervour on a daily basis, without having undertaken any formal labelling procedures. We believe that these initiatives deserve to be highlighted.
The pictogram that makes all the difference
To help you identify these committed players, we have created the Gaillarde badge (the moustachioed flower). As soon as you see this symbol next to the name of an establishment, you know you're with a partner who's rolling up their sleeves for tomorrow.
How are they selected?
There's no room for chance! To wear this committed moustache, our partners have to meet a rigorous set of criteria based on three fundamental pillars:
- Social Commitment: Respect for people, accessibility and local well-being.
- Environmental Action: Resource management, waste reduction and respect for biodiversity.
- Responsible Economy: Priority to short circuits and support for local producers.
How it works: 100% Gaillard Club members answer a detailed questionnaire on a voluntary basis. Only those who achieve an average score of over 50% are awarded the precious badge. It's a little helping hand in the spirit of Gaillard!
A living, evolving list
This selection is what we call an 'agile' list. It is not set in stone:
- It evolves: practices improve and new service providers join the adventure regularly.
- It is based on initiative: This list is not exhaustive, as it is based on the voluntary approach of our partners.
It's a bit like the lottery: " 100% of Moustaches Engagées have tried their luck at the questionnaire"!
