A PDO for Corrèze wines

Corrèze's vineyards(1001 Pierres, Vin de Paille, Coteaux de la Vézère) are now enjoying European recognition.

The Corrèze PDO thus becomes the 3,500 geographical indication recognised at European level and the 756 recognised in France.

What is a PDO?

The PDO was created in 1992 and assures consumers that all stages of production have been carried out according to recognised know-how in a very specific geographical area, giving it its characteristics. This sign protects the name of the product throughout the European Union.

What labels are available for Corrézien wines?

The renaissance of Corrézien wines, which began at the end of the 20th century with the wines of Branceilles and Le Saillant, has now been recognised at European level.

  • Between 2009 and 2017, a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) was awarded to these wines, which can be still (not sparkling), sparkling or "paillés" (straw wine is a sweet wine).
