The 14 July festivities take place over 2 days in the Gaillards. Concerts, fireworks and popular dances begin on 13 July and continue on 14 July.

In Brive-La-Gaillarde

Monday 13 July: 

  • Fire Brigade Ball: Cancelled due to the red heatwave alert.

  • Fireworks display postponed: the traditional 13 July fireworks display will be postponed until Saturday 15 August 2026, provided that the water situation has improved by then.

Tuesday 14 July:

Due to the heatwave, this year’s ceremony has been brought forward and moved to shaded areas.

  •  Exhibition featuring five activity stands (CIRFA Land, Air, Navy, French First Aiders ‘Croix Blanche 19’, French Red Cross) on the Esplanade Chambord or nearby, in the shade.
  • 8.30 am: military parade with the presentation of decorations
  • Following the ceremony, a parade of troops on foot and vehicles along the Promenade des Tilleuls,
    followed by a republican reception on the Esplanade Chambord, near the bandstand.

For the occasion, the Guierle underground car park will be open exceptionally. It will also be possible to park on the streets or in the car parks at Place du 15 Août, Thiers, Brune, Trois Provinces, etc.

However, due to security restrictions, the area will be completely closed to traffic and parking (Boulevard Anatole France, Avenue de Paris, Promenade des Tilleuls, Allée Antoine Bos, Rue Mialet and Quai Tourny).

In Malemort

Tuesday 14 July: 

  • Special 14 July barbecue party from 7.00 pm around the Town Hall.

  • Live broadcast of the World Cup semi-final between France and Spain.

  • The fireworks display has been cancelled.

In Objat

Monday 13 July:

  • Fire brigade ball cancelled due to a red alert for a heatwave.

Tuesday 14 July:

Due to the forecast of extreme heat, the timetable for the official 14 July ceremony has been brought forward to ensure the commemoration runs smoothly under the best possible conditions.

  • Programme:
    9.15 am – Assembly
    Place du Foirail – Rue Yvon Plantady
  • 9.30 am – Parade sets off towards the town centre
  • 10.00 am – Ceremony at the War Memorial
  • 8.30 pm: free concert by the BUZZ BROTHERS on the Esplanade (food available on site) 
  • The fireworks display originally scheduled for 10.30 pm has been cancelled following a prefectural order banning all fireworks from 11 to 15 July.
