Would you like to enjoy a family hike on routes suited to the age of your children? Visitors, you've chosen the right destination for a family adventure!

Here you'll find some 800 kilometres of paths and tracks. The Grande Randonnée routes 46 and 480, the GRP® ("Grande Randonnée de Pays") of the Causse corrézien, the legendary route to Santiago de Compostela, the many PR® (Walking and Hiking) itineraries... As you can see, you're spoilt for choice when it comes to getting off the beaten track and choosing your own hiking itinerary, perfectly adapted to the age of your children!

The Brive area is a "land of contrasts", with vegetation that varies greatly from one part of the region to the next, and an ecosystem with a wealth of flora and fauna! The landscapes of the Causse corrézien, theYssandonnais and its many puys or the Saillant and the gorges of the Vézère are all objects of contemplation whose deep identity and uniqueness are easily observed.

Short walks

We have a selection of short walks of less than 6 km to help you explore the Brive area as a family, at your own pace. These walks are classified as PDIPR, which means they are well-maintained and closed to motorised vehicles (quad bikes, motorbikes, etc.), making them ideal for family outings with peace of mind.

Game tours

Are your children budding archaeologists, future historians, budding architects or craftsmen, artists or scientists? Our beautiful Gaillarde region is full of sites to discover. With our game books, we've got something to feed the bodies and minds of all curious children! These free "logbooks" are a fun way for the whole family to discover local heritage, crafts and know-how. They're available here and at allTourist Office offices (Brive, Turenne...). Your curious children will be delighted!

Geocaching and Randoland

Terrà Aventura is a free smartphone application offering geocaching routes. It's a fun and rewarding way to explore our villages and countryside. You'll also find plenty of Randoland information sheets with directions and answers to questions.

Walks in the Vézère Ardoise Land of Art and History

Treat yourself to some exceptional walks in this land of rich heritage! The Country of Art and History Vézère Slate is a label awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Communication to 47 communes in the west of the Corrèze region with a rich architectural and natural heritage. No fewer than 31 of these are in the Brive region!

In addition to the programme of events organised under the label to promote this unique heritage, we invite you to take advantage of the "heritage signposting" available in all the municipalities concerned, highlighting the region's outstanding sites and monuments. These include the medieval market town of Donzenac (or "the Key of the South"), the Ardoisières de Travassac and Allassac (with its medieval tower and orientation table showing the location of the area between the Massif Central and the Aquitaine Basin).

It's an ideal way to plan your superb walks and short hikes, while exploring some of the region's most emblematic sites!
