This August, we’re suggesting a 7 km nature walk: the Bellerive Trail in Saint-Viance.

Along the route in Saint-Viance:

L’Auberge de St Viance: the ideal stop-off in the heart of the village to recharge your batteries. People come here for its generous, locally sourced cuisine and its warm atmosphere – perfect for lunch before setting off or a well-deserved break after your walk.
Les Jardins de Lagarde: an unmissable stop at a market garden for fans of locally sourced produce. The perfect opportunity to buy ingredients for a 100 per cent local picnic.

Just a stone’s throw from the route

L’Auberge du Cheval Blanc (Allassac): a lovely restaurant right on your doorstep to round off the day. With its beautiful shaded terrace, this restaurant showcases local produce, and if you’re lucky you might get to try the eggs en cocotte with porcini mushrooms – a real treat!
L’Épicerie du Saillant (Voutezac): situated near the Saillant bridge spanning the Vézère, this village grocery shop is the perfect spot to unearth Corrèze specialities, have a drink or enjoy an artisan ice cream by the water’s edge.
Les Pans de Travassac (Donzenac):
This natural site, unique in Europe, offers an extraordinary and dizzying journey into the heart of spectacular man-made slate cliffs. During the guided tours and live demonstrations, you’ll learn more about the ancestral craftsmanship of the slate quarrymen.
