At the top of the Lighthouse, Place de la Guierle, Brive-La-Gaillarde

99 steps to become a Gaillard!

We invite you to climb to the top of our " lighthouse "... which isn't a lighthouse at all! Located on Brive's largest square, Place de la Guierle, the Tourist Office reception point looks strangely like a lighthouse, but history will reveal its true original function.

The only tide it "lights up" is the crowd at the market on Saturday mornings, under and next to the Brassens market hall. You can climb to the top of the tower to admire the city's slate roofs, and there may also be a temporary exhibition on display.

Open every day in summer, during Tourist Office opening hours. Ask reception staff for access.
