Sunset over the Lac du Causse
The best time to discover the Lac du Causse is at the end of the day, at sunset. And why is that? For the peace and quiet, the colours, the change of scenery just a quarter of an hour from the city, and all for very little money. Recharging and surprising!
We've left Brive-la-Gaillarde and got away from city life. After just 15 minutes on the road, we arrived in the commune of Lissac. And then: surprise! A 360° view over the Lac du Causse, renamed the " Cité Gaillarde seaside resort ". A popular spot for a variety of water sports, you're often lucky enough to see rowers on theirrowing boats, fishermen or children on sailboats.
You'll need at least an hour to enjoy the peace and quiet, take a stroll and wait quietly for the sun to set. That's when the place takes on a whole new look and colour. The reflections on the water, the view of the village of Chasteaux a little higher up: a real change of scenery!
Little Gaillard tips
- Don't forget your camera to capture the moment.
- Walk around the lake (7km flat trail, 1? hours).
- Extend the moment and have a picnic by the lake.
- Take advantage of the free entertainment provided by the Guinguettes (Sunday evenings in summer) and the Nocturnes du Causse (fire shows, street arts, etc.) held every Thursday in July and August.
