What is a PoHTe?

It's a tourist information point.

Who is a PoHTe?

A PoHTe can be a grocery shop, a bakery, a café, a town hall, a post office, a newspaper shop... a village landmark that tourists just can't avoid!

What's it for?

They undertake to provide visitors with information about their village.

How do they do this?

With the tourist documentation for the village and the region provided by the Tourist Office.

Why PoHTes?

For several years now, a significant drop in the number of visitors to tourist information offices has called into question the funding of seasonal posts to run them.
The uneven presence of tourist information throughout the region.
Tourists expect to find: services and places where they can spend a convivial moment during their visit.
Have a drink, eat something, have a snack, buy a little souvenir... all with tourist information and a local person to welcome them "at home" and give them advice on discovering the area!
That's what tourists will remember and appreciate!

BECAUSE A GOOD WELCOME IS EVERYONE'S BUSINESS!
