Top sports holidays

When you're on holiday, lazing around isn't really your thing. You need to get moving and work up a sweat. You've come to the right place!

On land, in the air and in the water, the Brive region has no shortage of sporting activities to enjoy on your own, with family or friends. In this long list, you're bound to find what you're looking for to make the most of your sporting break.

Sporting activities on the land

One of the best ways to discover Brive and its surrounding area is probably by hiking. On foot, walking or running, by bike or mountain bike, take to the paths and tracks to admire the magnificent scenery and rich historical heritage.

If you want to add a little originality to your walks, why not try orienteering or geocaching? Thinking, concentration and observation will be the key words in these activities, which are ideal for families and friends.

Hiking not your forte? Try archery, blowpipe or golf. These sports may not be very strenuous, but they will require a great deal of rigour and precision.

Sports activities in the air

Your stay in Terres Gaillardes can be an opportunity to take to the skies by trying out one of the manyaccrobranche (tree climbing) courses or climbing routes in the Brive region.

For more thrills (but not too many!), a first flight in a hot-air balloon is a good option, especially if you want to discover the south of Corrèze in a different way. You'll be able to enjoy exceptional panoramas that few people get to see.

Water sports activities

In the Brive region, it can be hot in summer, even very hot. Fortunately, we're lucky enough to have plenty of places to swim. Streams, lakes and swimming pools: you're spoilt for choice whether you want to splash around like a fish in water or practise your swimming skills like an Olympic champion!

And thanks to this diversity of aquatic environments, we have a huge range of water sports on offer. For example, canoe, kayak or even raft down the Dordogne and Vézère rivers. Alternatively, test your balance with a stand-up paddle session or try your hand atrowing, the king of sports on Lac du Causse.

And if you fancy a spot of gudgeon fishing, the Pays Gaillard is full of perfect spots for sport fishing... or not. Don't take the fly, we're only joking!
