The Corrèze is a great spot for fishing enthusiasts.
Our good produce can be wild, and to enjoy it, you have to fish for it! Come and discover the Dordogne and Corrèze rivers and our wonderful streams. The Lac du Causse also offers great opportunities for beginners, experts and even competitors!
What can be found in our waters?
- Trout: fishing authorised from March to September
- Pike: from March to September for category 1 / in January and May for category 2.
- Grayling: from mid-May to mid-September for category 1 / from mid-May to mid-November inclusive and exclusively with artificial flies after mid-September for category 2.
- Pike-perch: mid-March to mid-September for category 1 / from 1 January to mid-March and from mid-June to 31 December for category 2.
- Black Bass: from mid-March to mid-September for category 1 / from 1 January to mid-March and from 07 July to 31 December.
- White-clawed crayfish: Beware, you may find some but it is strictly forbidden to fish for them. The species is threatened.
How do you recognise category 1 and category 2 fish? The "pêche 19" federation provides information on their website.
If you don't want to take the plunge, we have a fish farm in the area, where trout are raised... you'll find a few fillets to sink your teeth into at the local farmers' markets...
