This presentation will address the issue of drug interactions, i.e. situations where two drugs, or one drug and another substance, taken at the same time, may interact and alter the way the drug is administered
drugs, or a drug and another substance, taken at the same time, can interact and modify the
the efficacy or tolerability of treatments. Using a scenario inspired by a police investigation, he will explain
how certain drugs can prevent the absorption of another, speed up or slow down its elimination, or reinforce or cancel its effects
or cancel out its effects. Concrete examples will be presented, such as grapefruit juice,
antacids and CBD. The presentation will also recall the aggravating circumstances of these interactions and
how healthcare professionals can identify, monitor and manage them to protect patients
patients.
