Admission is free and a refreshment bar will be available.
Mathieu Bosredon was born on 15 July 1992 in Brive-La-Gaillarde. Paralysed since the age of 4, he began his rehabilitation by swimming. At the age of 14, Mathieu tried his hand at para-cycling. It was a revelation for him. He found sport an escape and an inexhaustible source of motivation. No matter the pain, no matter the sacrifices, Mathieu always wants to go further and keep pushing the limits. He's at one with cycling. His dream: to take part in the Paralympics.
At the age of 32, he has been crowned French champion 13 times. Although he wasn't selected for the London Games in 2012, his perseverance and audacity enabled him to make his mark in 2015 with his first world medal.
The reward came the following year, when Mathieu took part in the Rio Paralympic Games. Competing in the H4 category of the road race, the handbiker missed out on a place on the podium. This was enough to give him the determination to progress with a view to the Tokyo Games.
In 2023, he won the gold medal at the European championships in the H4 road race after winning silver at the world championships in two disciplines (H4 time trial and H4 road race).
The para-cycling (road) events in Paris will be held from 4 to 7 September 2024, with 7 to 10 hours of competition per day. The programme of events will include an adapted course of 13.9 km and 140 m of ascent, which will take paracyclists from Clichy-sous-Bois to Coubron before reaching Seine-et-Marne. "It promises to be a dynamic and intense competition", according to the France Paralympiques press release. You can find the course for the time trial and the road race below:
