Reopening of the Truffe Noire

After 6 months of renovation work, the emblematic Brivoise restaurant La Truffe Noire has been completely refurbished and will open its doors on 16 October.

A 4-star hotel

After changing ownership last April, the hotel has undergone a facelift and moved upmarket to qualify for a fourth star. New equipment, such as air conditioning, has been installed in the rooms, and the decor has retained the spirit of the place while adding a touch of modernity.

The lobby (see photo) is now uncluttered and much brighter. It retains its red ceiling, from which a huge ultra-modern chandelier has been hung.

The façade has been completely cleaned and repainted.

18 rooms will be available to let on 16 October. But by the time of the Book Fair, all 27 rooms should be available.

The cellar

Located beneath the restaurant, the cellar has been completely renovated.

This cosy, intimate space is a great place to enjoy a drink before or after your meal.

The kitchen has also been completely redone. A "chef's table" has even been installed, allowing some customers to eat while watching the professionals at work.

As for the chef, Fernand Vaz, he knows our region and our local produce inside out. Trained in Corrèze, notably at Castel Novel (when it had 1 star), he has also worked at the Louis XV in Monaco, as well as in major hotels in Berlin and Switzerland. His cuisine will be a fusion of Japanese techniques and local produce, including truffles!
