Where the Vézère gorges end in a final waterfall, hydroelectric engineers couldn't resist building a dam in 1930. To admire it at its best, take the path that leads to the lookout point. From up there, you have a bird's eye view of the structure and the imposing rock that dominates it. It has been named the "salmon jump" in honour of the salmon of the Correze region who, at this point, did not hesitate to jump out of the water to cross the obstacle separating them from their breeding grounds. Along the way, you'll discover all about the history of salmon in Corrèze.
