A rowing boat on the Lac du Causse

Lac du Causse is an internationally renowned rowing lake!

Equipped with a finishing tower, the 84-hectare lake has several water lines and a maximum of 9 safety boats at your disposal.

Just above the lake, a few metres away, our village of gîtes is ideal for accommodating your group for the duration of the course, for maximum convenience!

The international rowing pool

It meets the standards of the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Aviron (International Rowing Federation):

  • 8 lanes (13.5 m wide) of 2200 m
  • 1 removable starting pontoon
  • 1 starting tower
  • 1 finishing tower on 3 levels (official refereeing, video)
  • 1 FISA-standard starting pontoon that is easy to move
  • 1 technical pontoon measuring 12 m x 2.25 m for preparing the boats before the start of the races
  • 1 honour pontoon 40 m x 4.25 m
  • 4 embarkation and disembarkation pontoons measuring 20 m x 4.25 m

Land of the 2024 Games

From 11 to 21 July 2024, the Lac du Causse welcomed the Swiss Olympic delegation, who had come to prepare for the Paris Olympic Games.

A total of 27 athletes were present, including the 2023 world champions: Roman Röösli and Andrin Gulich, and the world number 2: Raphaël Ahumada.

In August, it was the Mexican Paralympic team (1 man - 1 woman) who chose the Lac du Causse to come and train for the Paralympic Games, which were also held in Paris from 28 August to 8 September.
