The controlled market for fresh truffles

During the Brive-La-Gaillarde fair season, which also corresponds to the truffle season, a controlled market for the retail sale of fresh truffles will be held every Saturday morning from Saturday 2 December 2023 until the end of February or the beginning of March, depending on the harvest, starting at 8am in the Salle Brassens.

Truffles are also entitled to their own award-winning fair. It is held every year on the 1st Saturday in January. This award-winning fair is very interesting. It is associated with the Kings' Fair.

A quality product worth its weight in gold ... black

The first truffles appear at the beginning of December. The season lasts until the end of February. They become tastier as they mature, and prices vary according to their aesthetic quality, from 500 to 1000 euros per kilo.

But rest assured, you don't need to buy a kilo of truffles to treat yourself. Count on 20 grams per person to treat yourself, which will cost you around 5 euros per person!
