In the early 90s, a group of around fifteen enthusiasts decided to revive the vineyards of the Vézère. None of them were winegrowers. They had to learn everything from growing vines to marketing wine.

Their vineyards are planted on steep slopes, a land of schist and slate. Their wines derive their elegance from this local terroir. You'll find white grape varieties (Chenin, Sauvignon Gris, Chardonnay....) and black grape varieties (Merlot and Cabernet Franc).

Vézère wines: proud and responsible production!

  1. Like the Phoenix rising from its ashes, the wines of the Vézère have been rehabilitated following their disappearance caused by phylloxera. In this way, local know-how has been preserved.
  2. A range of organic wines to discover
  3. The wines have the AOP Vins de Corrèze label.
  4. Don't miss a visit to the heart of the vineyards and terraces, and sample the nectars produced.
  5. An integration project is active in part of the vineyards.

Today, two cellars are open to the public. You can meet the winegrowers who will share their history and their terroir with you:

  • the Coteaux de la Vézère cellar. Here you can taste a fine range of wines, some of which are AOC Coteaux de la Vézère certified. Among the wines to discover:
    - Gamade: white wine (dry, semi-dry, sweet, muscat), red wine and rosé.
    - Les Périères: red wine (Cabernet franc), white wine (dry and semi-dry Chenin).
  • Couvent de la Providence, also in Le Saillant, offers an unusual tour of the vineyards and terraces. You can also taste and buy wines under the Chant d'Ardoise name (a range of white, red and rosé wines).

Bon plan Tasting Vézère wines

Wine and the Vézère are serious business. These two have known each other since the 6th century, when the first vines were planted on the slopes above the peaceful river. After a few arguments, as happens in an old couple, here they are once again united for the better: a range of quality dry and sweet whites, reds and rosés. It's up to you to taste them at the Coteaux de la Vézère cellar or at the Grange Chant d'ardoises.
