Les cascades de Gimel Parc Vuillier
GIMEL-LES-CASCADES
From 6.50€ – Basic price – full adult price
One of the most beautiful natural sites in Corrèze, 12 km northwest of Tulle. The cascades are made up of three successive falls from the Montane river, totalling 143 metres in height: the 45-metre-high Grand Saut, the 38-metre-high Redole and the 60-metre-high Queue de Cheval. The latter plunges into the “gouffre de l’inferno”. Abel Hugo, Victor Hugo’s brother, first described these waterfalls in a book entitled “La France pittoresque” (1883). Numerous signposted itineraries run alongside the cascades in the Parc Vuillier, named after the painter Gaston Vuillier who landscaped it between 1893 and 1899. The site is not accessible to people with reduced mobility. It is also not recommended for people with heart problems.
In summer, parents with young children can leave their strollers at the ticket office.
Dogs are welcome if kept on a leash.
