To mark the centenary of his birth, the exhibition retraces the artistic career of Joss
Baselli (1926-1982). Little known to the general public, he nevertheless led an exceptional career, in turn conductor, composer, soloist and accompanist to the world of song. An elegant virtuoso, his career took him from France to the United States, where he remains the only French accordionist to have won a popularity award. Committed to the recognition and transmission of his instrument, he published, with accordionist André Astier, several accordion methods that have become references for generations of musicians. Featuring a wealth of documents, photographs and records, the exhibition also invites visitors to listen to some of his most emblematic compositions.
