The inauguration of the Brive trail station: between the Causse and the Vézère!

On Saturday 22 June 2024, from 9.15am, we will be inaugurating the Brive trail station: between Causse and Vézère at the Lac du Causse water sports centre. With the participation of Clémentine Geoffray, reigning world champion, and Philippe Propage, former coach of the French trail team, the day promises to be full of practical experience, sound advice and exceptional exchanges!
For a number of years now, the Brive conurbation has been working to make the area a land of nature sports. The 2 FFV-approved resorts on the Causse and Saillant have been the driving force behind this drive to promote trail running, which has become a must in recent years.
After several months of monitoring the project, marking out routes and working on the On Piste application, it' s now time to inaugurate our 2 trail stations at one of them (Causse) on Saturday 22 June!
Programme for the day
- 9.15am: Welcome coffee
- 9.45am: Start on course 8 with Clémentine Geoffray
- 12.30pm: aperitif and meal at the water sports centre
- 2.00 pm: official inauguration of the trail station: ribbon cutting in the presence of the Mayor of Brive la Gaillarde, Frédéric Soulier, and the President of Brive Tourisme, Yves Gary.
- 15.00: Philippe Propage gives a talk on "Training planning".
- 16:30-17:30: Q&A with Philippe Propage.

Practical information
- The Lac du Causse water sports centre is located at Port de Lissac, 19600 Lissac sur Couze.
- It has a large car park with parking facilities for buses and shuttles.
- The blue course n°8 is 15.10 km long, D+ 405 m - D-408 m. It is of medium difficulty.
- You can take a shower on site from 11.15am, either directly at the water sports centre or at the Lac du Causse campsite (just a few metres from the water sports centre).
- The meal is €10/person and includes: a pasta dish with your choice of sauce, a dessert and still water. You can pay directly on site.

To inaugurate the Brive: entre Causse et Vézère resort, 2 champions are doing us the honour of being present:
- Clémentine Geoffray: reigning world champion and winner of the Skyrunner World Series 2023, who will be testing one of the trail station courses referenced in the Causse.
- Philippe Propage: Team Manager of the Kiprun Women team and former coach of the French trail team. He will be giving a talk on training planning from 3pm.
- Thierry Breuil : Trail champion and 100% Gaillard ambassador.
