Switzerland and Mexico have chosen the Lac du Causse to perfect their preparation for the Paris Olympic Games. The Swiss team will be on site from 11 to 21 July. The Mexican team will be training from 1 to 25 August in preparation for the Paralympic Games.
The Swiss rowing delegation arrived in Correze on 10 July to prepare for the Olympic Games. The 27-strong team (including 7 women and 13 men) is one of the favourites. The team includes 2023 world champions Roman Röösli and Andrin Gulich, as well as Raphaël AHUMADA, the world's number two rower!
You'll be able to watch them on Lac du Causse from 11 to 21 July. You might even catch a glimpse of them during their two training sessions on the water.
Equipped with a finishing tower, the 84-hectare lake has several water lines and a maximum of 9 safety boats are available. Sports enthusiasts have access to the weight room and medical room located at the water sports centre, and have exclusive use of the brand new sports hall. Starting pontoons can be added if required, and all the boats can be stored in a hangar close to the training centre.
The coaches of the Swiss delegation were familiar with our destination. They had discovered and appreciated the facilities at Lac du Causse during last year's U19 European Championships. What's more, the facilities on offer were recently extended to include a new sports hall equipped with 15 ERGO machines for rowing warm-ups and training sessions, a games area and changing rooms. So the offer met all their requirements.
This smaller team (3 people, including one male and one female athlete) will be sailing twice a day and will benefit from on-site accommodation.
