Publié le 18 April 2025 par su_laetis

Brive la Gaillarde Conurbation, in collaboration with Editions Glénant, is proud to announce the release of two valuable resources for all walking enthusiasts: a detailed topo guide and a walking map. These tools have been designed as part of the walking scheme drawn up by the Brive agglomeration, with the aim of promoting and facilitating the discovery of the region's rich natural and heritage resources through walking.

Brive and the surrounding area: a spot for outdoor activities

The Brive region stands out for its outdoor activities, which are a major asset for the destination. Hiking is one of them. There are more than 300km of footpaths, 26 short walks (classified as PDIPR) suitable for all levels, a remarkable escape route known as"la boucle du Causse", 11 long loops for the more adventurous, and an exciting variant of the"Chemin de St-Jacques" linking Brive to Turenne.

Opting to hike or cycle to discover the landscapes of Correze is a great way to enjoy an unforgettable holiday, while minimising your carbon footprint. To facilitate these discoveries, a range of cycle hire facilities has been set up throughout the region, as well as a mountain bike hire base at Lac du Causse and Le Saillant.

In the spirit of making adventure accessible to all, turnkey weekends by bike are also available to explore the nooks and crannies of Correze, combining physical effort, visual pleasure and cultural discovery.

Topo Guide and Itinerant Map your new travelling companions

  • The recently published topo guide is much more than just a collection of itineraries. It is the ideal companion for anyone wishing to discover the Brive region on foot. Richly illustrated, it contains detailed descriptions of 26 routes, information on the cultural and natural heritage, and practical advice on safe walking.

You can buy it directly from the Tourist Office.

  • As for the Itinérance map, it's an essential tool for planning your itineraries, spotting the major loops and making sure you don't miss out on any of the wonders the Brive agglomeration has to offer.
