Discover the "Dames de Hautefort" theatrical evenings

Publié le 18 April 2025 par su_laetis

Come and enjoy these show tours every Wednesday evening from 10 July to 28 August 2024 at Château de Hautefort. You'll discover a different side to the castle, where ghosts come to meet a poet and his muse who tell the story of the place.

The Concept

Every Wednesday, starting at 7pm, a troupe of around twenty professional and amateur actors will offer you an unforgettable immersive experience in the heart of the Château, combining history, poetry, theatre and music. In a whirlwind of 17th and 18th century costumes, you'll travel to meet the Ladies of Hautefort: from the beautiful and noble Eleanor of Aquitaine, to the generous and smiling Madame de Bastard, via the mysterious Marie de Hautefort!

The participants

  • The director: Christian Croset
A lover of fine poetry and theatre, Christian Croset wrote the script for Les Nocturnes. A former teacher at the Cours Florent and the Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra de Paris, and a permanent member of the Maison de la Poésie at the Théâtre Molière for 15 years, his rich career has enabled him to work with renowned actors and to train actors who are now members of the Comédie-Française.

Speakers on the dramatised tours of Hautefort Castle
  • Vittoretti
Christian's muse is a complete artist in her own right: a painter, musician and theatre enthusiast, Nathalie puts her talent at the service of Les Nocturnes with boundless enthusiasm. You may well hear her accompanying Christian on her harp, and above all giving him a brilliant performance!

  • Donatien Croset
Donatien Croset is a talented young musician who is spreading his wings as a composer. He has created a series of original pieces for Hautefort to accompany the great moments in the castle's history, which you'll hear echoing throughout these Nocturnes.

  • The cast
Twenty actors and extras in action. Faithful to the event for the third year running, the merry troupe led by Christian and Nathalie is multi-generational and made up of enthusiasts and amateurs. Marquis, marquises, baronesses, revolutionaries, maids and guards will be on hand to give you a unique insight into the history of the Château.
