Rendez-vous in the gardens

"Rendez-vous in the Gardens" gives visitors the chance to discover gardens from a new angle, depending on the theme chosen. This 20th edition will be held from 31 May to 2 June 2024 and this year's theme is: "The 5 senses in the garden".

The programme of our partner gardens:

Les Jardins de Colette (19240 - Varetz):

This year is the 70th anniversary of the death of the writer Colette. A number of events are being organised to mark these 3 days:

  • Saturday 1 June: a guided tour in the footsteps of the novelist Colette at 3pm.
  • Sunday 2 June:
    - At 2.30pm, a guided tour in the footsteps of the novelist Colette
    - At 4pm, meet and chat with one of the Park's gardeners.

Take advantage of the weekend to bring out your inner child! Discover the giant retro games, not forgetting the maze and Detective Labigle's treasure hunt... There'll be plenty of fun and laughter to be had with family and friends!

The gardens are open non-stop from 10am to 6pm, and picnics and dogs are welcome in the park.

The gardens of Château de Turenne:

  • Friday 31 May: at 11.30am and 3pm: guided tour of the château and hanging garden
  • Saturday 1 June: at 11.30am and 3pm, guided tours of the château followed by a guided tour of the garden by our head gardener Didier Carlat. At 4.30pm, a game around the garden for children and at 7.30pm: FACADE vocal show by Psychiatrik Opéra (booking required).
  • Sunday 2 June: at 11.30 am and 3 pm, guided tours of the château followed by a guided tour of the garden by our head gardener Didier Carlat. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., "Unexpected encounter in the château garden": entertainment by a falconry association, "Les Grandes Ailes Corréziennes". 4.30pm: garden games for children.

The Sothys contemporary botanical gardens (Auriac - 19220)

  • You can visit the Sothys Gardens from 10am to 7pm from 31 May to 2 June. On Sunday 2 June, from 3pm, there will be a talk by Emilie Gabet, an environmental educator from the Corrèze CPIE (Centre Permanent d'Initiatives pour l'Environnement).

The Gardens of Hautefort Castle (24390)

  • Immerse yourself in the 17th century with the harmonious and balanced classical architecture of Château de Hautefort, its furnished flats and its remarkable formal gardens (3ha). Open 7 days a week from 10am to 6pm. Open to all. On 1 and 2 June, enjoy guided tours led by the head gardener. Pruning demonstrations in the formal gardens. Guided tours at 11am and 3pm.

Les Jardins de l'Imaginaire (Terrasson - 24120):

  • Come and discover the gardens from Wednesday to Monday from 9.30am to 5.30pm. You can discover the 13 paintings in this beautiful contemporary garden at your own pace, accompanied by a "Les Jardins de L'Imaginaire" smartphone app that can be downloaded before you come. Les Jardins d'eau (Carsac Aillac - 24200)

  • Discover this remarkable Périgord garden from 10am to 7pm. A veritable aquatic "arboretum" overlooking the wild banks of the Dordogne. Discover a collection of aquatic plants.

Perpezac-Le-Blanc :

The Friends of Perpezac-Le-Blanc are organising a major "Nature-Culture" festival on 1 June, bringing together lovers of gardens, botany, poetry, writing and French song. From 10am to 6pm. On the programme:
-Openings of remarkable private gardens in the village and at Chastagnol, the "Hérisson blanc" educational garden,
- Visits to the botanical trail,
- A musical plunge into the repertoire of French songs with Pierre DELGOULET and his barrel organ,
- Country poetry with Jacques VAYLEUX, President-Poet of a Lion's Club in Brive,
- Literary workshop by Elmi BAYOL with "la Boîte à Mots" from Juillac,
- Paintings in freedom with the Artists of Bas Limousin

Practical information

  • Don't hesitate to bring your own picnic basket. Some gardens offer picnics on site.
