Les Mycéliades science fiction festival

Numerous workshops and film screenings (classics of the genre) are planned from 1 to 15 February 2024 in Brive at the Cinéma Le Rex and the Médiathèque in Brive town centre. This rich programme has been put together in collaboration with Les Yeux Verts, Carré Ciné, the Gobelin Gaillard board games shop, the Pôle d'Education aux Images en Nouvelle Aquitaine and the Brive Film Festival (Rencontres Internationales du Moyen Métrage).

AT CINEMA LE REX

  • Saturday 3 February at 8pm : Ciné-jeux - The thing by John Carpenter (1982 - horror). Forbidden for under 12s. Following the screening, an evening of role-playing and board games, including one based on John Carpenter's film The Thing, hosted by the Gobelin Gaillard board game shop.

  • Sunday 4 February at 5pm: James Cameron's Terminator. Followed by a discussion with Jean-Luc Louis from the association Gignac Ensemble, as a follow-up to the conference "L'Intelligence Artificielle va-t-elle nous surpasser?" to be held at the Médiathèque Municipale in Brive on Saturday 3 February at 3pm.

  • Tuesday 6 February at 6.30pm: Midnight Special by Jeff Nichols.

  • Wednesday 7 February at 5pm: Ciné-game - ROBOCOP by Paul Verhoeven. Following the screening, video game session on the big screen with the BroForce game in connection with the "video games and cinema" conference at the Brive media library on the same day at 10am. In partnership with Les Yeux Verts, Pôle d'éducation aux Images en Nouvelle Aquitaine, Carré Ciné and the Festival du Cinéma de Brive - Rencontres Internationales du moyen métrage de Brive.

  • Thursday 8 February at 8.30pm: Under the skin by Johnathan Glazer (Thriller)

  • Friday 9 February at 9pm: Army of the 12 Monkeys by Terry Gilliam (Thriller).

  • Saturday 10 February at 7pm: Ciné-jeu - E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial by Steven Spielberg.
    As a pre-programme: screening of a film made by participants in the "Come and remake the E.T. trailer" suede film workshop held on Saturday 10 February at the Médiathèque Municipale de Brive, in partnership with Les Yeux Verts, Pôle d'éducation aux images en Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Carré Ciné.
    Following the screening: 3rd game encounters with the Gobelin board game shop Family cinema-games (from age 8) board and card games on the theme of space travel, a playful encounter with extraterrestrial worlds and creatures...

  • Sunday 11 February at 5pm: Blade Runner by Ridley Scott.

  • Monday 12 February at 6.30pm: Mars express by Jérémie Périn.

  • Wednesday 14 February at 4pm: Donnie Darko by Richard Kelly.
