Founded in 1908, Corderie Palus, located in Saint-Pantaléon-de-Larche, is a traditional artisanal rope-maker.
What makes it special? It's the last 280m-long workshop in France capable of working such long lengths! Its products are used in animal husbandry, woodworking, vineyards and arboriculture, flour milling, packaging twine, upholstery, plumbing and sport.
A tradition that is perpetuated day after day by meticulous work using natural fibres such as hemp, sisal, jute and cotton.
La Corderie has just been awarded the invaluable"Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (EPV) state label, established to distinguish French companies and industrial and craft skills of excellence, for a period of 5 years.
Created in 2005, the EPV label is designed to highlight companies that are committed to innovation, tradition, know-how, the creative spirit and Made in France heritage.
It is the only government label awarded to a company for its entire activity:
Whatever their size, reputation or speciality, the EPVs work together to safeguard a treasure: French heritage and know-how.
By choosing an EPV-labelled company, our customers are supporting the maintenance and development of these prestigious activities, and in so doing are safeguarding long-term jobs that are not relocated.
These companies are capable of working on the most unusual projects, responding to the most unusual orders, and offering original, made-to-measure solutions to meet the most demanding needs and satisfy the most demanding customers. In every field, from traditional to cutting-edge techniques, these companies share a common talent: that of offering a made-to-measure service, a product that can't be found anywhere else.
We've already worked with a leading fashion house and the Corderie Royale de Rochefort.
Corderie Palus is committed to this approach and is opening its doors to give visitors a chance to discover the company in the best possible conditions: an excellent way of sharing their passion with the public, in the intimacy of their workshops.
These visits will be led by Mr Assolari. Meeting point directly at the Corderie.
