A major first in France and for the town of Brive-La-Gaillarde, the 24th World Military Triathlon Championships will be held at Lac du Causse on 7 and 8 May 2023. The expertise of the Corrèze region has been recognised for hosting this event, organised for the first time on French soil. Over the years, Lac du Causse has become the venue for a number of major sporting events, making it one of the sites offered to French and foreign delegations to prepare their teams for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games!
This international sporting event brings together 300 athletes representing 22 nations and takes place in Brive with the support of the Brive Defence Base and the 126th Infantry Regiment.
Working closely with the town of Brive and the French Triathlon Federation, 200 staff, markers, volunteers, officials and health personnel are working with the armed forces and the Gendarmerie Nationale to ensure that this international event is a success.
As part of an eco-responsible approach, cars will not be allowed on the competition site. A fleet of 12 buses will be deployed to shuttle people between the town and Lac du Causse. Visitors will have no choice but to use the shuttle buses to get to Lac du Causse on 7 and 8 May.
