Friday 30th January
Markets of the day : in Allassac all morning on the Place de la République and in Juillac from 4.30pm to 7pm (in the car park opposite Vival).
- Ciné-thé at Rex at 2pm with the screening of La petite cousine de Mehdi. On the programme: a screening + a meeting + a gourmet tea. This 1 hour 44 minute film tells the story of Mehdi, an Algerian son who is perfect in front of his mother Fatima, but who hides from her his relationship with Léa and his passion for French gastronomy. He is a chef in a bistro that he is about to buy with Léa. But she is fed up with his secrecy and demands to meet Fatima. With his back to the wall, Mehdi comes up with the worst possible solution.
- La Nuit des Conservatoires : for this 15th edition, Brive Conservatoire exceptionally opens its doors, an opportunity to see the classrooms, the dance studio, the auditorium and the director's office. From 6pm to midnight. Free admission.
Blue in Winter
at the Théâtre at 6.30pm: Concert by KHAM MESLIEN at the Théâtre de Brive. Aided by a Looper for his cadences and the loops he stacks, the wood of his bass becomes warm and deep. The result is stories and tales for everyone. He extends his explorations and delves even deeper into a music that is universal, colourful and meticulous about detail. As if you were alone with your instrument, face to face with yourself.
9pm: BAOBAB concert at the Théâtre de Brive. Tickets from €10 to €23. Plunge into the heart of the soul of Senegal. Multiple, powerful and dazzling. From its foundation in a Dakar club in 1970 to its rapid international recognition, from the first golden age of a group that was a pillar of African music to its renaissance at the start of the new millennium, Orchestra Baobab has never stopped revisiting its heritage, from Ndongo Daara, one of the group's first hits, released in 1970, to Made In Dakar, released this year. An institution renowned for its influence and unfailing virtuosity, Orchestra Baobab has drawn on the sounds of the world to forge a sound like no other.
11pm: DJ SET TROPICOOL at the Théâtre de Brive. Free admission.
- One man show by Majid Berhila, at 8pm at l'Improviste. Majid Berhila, a former gay lascar turned TV star, is back on stage for all to enjoy! He is currently a hit every night on M6 in Scènes de ménages alongside Élodie Poux, with millions of viewers tuning in. In Confessions presque intimes, Majid is back in the public eye with his fine, light-hearted humour. He doesn't hesitate to make us laugh about subjects that really speak to us: his double culture, his family life, the little hassles of everyday life... It's all there!
With sincerity and self-mockery, he delivers touching and funny confidences that will make you smile as much as recognise yourself in his stories. It's a funny, sincere, warm-hearted show that will make you want to spend the evening with him... in all honour, of course! Also on Saturday.

- Festival du Bleu en Hiver :
- 11am: Concert by LILIAN MILLE & GAUTHIER TOUX at the Médiathèque in Brive. Free admission. Ahead of their performance with Anne Paceo that evening, trumpeter and keyboardist Lilian Mille and pianist Gauthier Toux warm up the Brive media library for a moment of suspended animation.
- 6.30pm: ETIENNE MANCHON TRIO concert at the Théâtre de Brive. This trio from the south-west of France is only too happy to celebrate its Weird Life in public and in concert. Free admission.
- 9pm: ANNE PACEO ATLANTIS concert at the Théâtre de Brive. A drummer and composer whose curiosity equals her virtuosity, Anne Paceo looks for inspiration in the movements of the sea, the great solo sailors and the headwinds to draw her own musical map played in a sextet. And the boundaries of her music extend far beyond jazz to pop, electro and ambient. Note the presence of Gauthier Toux, another jazz boundary-pusher, on piano.Tickets: €10 to €23.
- 11pm: Concert by JANOYA at the Théâtre de Brive. Free admission. Playing the trumpet since the age of 7, this Parisian by adoption leads his quintet Fungi on the best stages of the moment.
Lotos
Those who like to play can try their luck at the various lotos organised in the area:
- Double lotto organised by the APE Jules Ferry in Malemort: double chance to win at 2pm and 8pm at the Salle Jean Ferrat (€3 per box, €10 per 4 boxes and €1 per child).
- Fanatic-Cheer 19 double lotto at Espace Jean-Paul Escande. Open at 2pm and 8pm.
- D3 ice hockey championship: this match between Brive and Toulouse will take place at 5.45pm. The programme includes a charity tombola in partnership with Unicef. Lots of prizes to be won. Tickets €2/€5 for 3 tickets.
- Theatre in Varetz : Et pendant ce temps, Simone Veille! Can feminism be funny? That's what's at stake in this show, which revisits the status of women from the 1950s to the present day. Four generations of women take part in this journey through time, from the fight for abortion to medically assisted procreation. Punctuated by the interventions of a whimsical and scathing Simone, who reminds us of the important dates, we (re)discover this quest for equality between men and women, which has been achieved by dint of battles, desires and doubts. 60 years of feminism revisited with plenty of humour and a question. Price : Public €10; under 12s free.
- Tribute Céline Dion concert at Cabaret Gaillard. Come and have a blast singing and dancing to the legendary hits of the undisputed diva: Céline Dion. An incredible tribute by the Compagnie D'eux - Tribute to Céline Dion. Price : Concert Seul Assis ticket: €39.70 - Meal + Concert package: €59.70 - Gold category Meal + Concert package: €69.70. 22nd Chartrier-Ferrière truffle market organised by the Association des trufficulteurs du Causse Corrézien on the Place Raoul Delmas in Chartrier-Ferrière. On the programme:
- truffle inspection
- market open to the public
- prize-giving and tombola draw
- Sale of mycorrhizal plants.
- On site: coffee, mulled wine, truffle brouillade, etc.If you're an antiques enthusiast, you'll love Brive's monthly flea market, which takes place all day long in the Halle Georges Brassens.
As for collectors, the monthly Bourse des Collectionneurs Malemortois will be held from 9am to 12pm at the Salle Frechinos in Malemort.- Gourmets who like to hike can take advantage of the Galette hike in Cublac, which starts at 2pm from the Salle Polyvalente. (6 km circuit with a €2 participation fee). On the way back, you can enjoy a bowl of hot chocolate or a glass of cider and a nice slice of galette!

- Guided tours of the Grottes de Saint-Antoine sanctuary at 3.30pm. Free admission.
- Le Pré en Bulles (in Voutezac) offers a demonstration of artisanal soap-making at 4pm, lasting 1? hours. To attend, book 48 hours in advance on 06 66 15 01 41.
- Route 89 rock festival at the Francis Poulenc Auditorium. The Route 89 Festival is a travelling rock festival between Bordeaux, Périgueux and Brive, organised by the Teenager of the Year's club in Brive. It is supported in this project by two historic cultural associations from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region: Allez les filles from Bordeaux and Some Produkt from Périgueux.
The idea is for three up-and-coming rock bands - Guu from Gironde, Snappy Days from Périgord and Teenager of the Year from Correze - each to give a concert three days in a row at three different venues. In Brive, the concert is scheduled for Sunday 1 February at 6pm.
At the same time, the festival aims to promote groups from the Correze region by giving them the chance to play to a different audience and in different venues, while helping to keep alive and develop an existing but fledgling rock movement in Brive.
- Féerie des Lanternes at Castel Novel: From Friday to Sunday, this Lantern Festival takes place for the first time at the Château de Castel Novel in Varetz. On Fridays and Saturdays, the opening times are from 6pm to 10pm (with last entry at 9pm) and on Sundays from 6pm to 9pm (last entry at 8pm).
