Our weekend favourites
The first weekend in August means an explosion of village festivals! The summer atmosphere is everywhere, from the guinguette to the market, not forgetting the open-air shows.

Friday 1 August
- Market in Allassac: stock up on local produce direct from the producers at the market in the centre of Allassac.
Guided tour of Turenne: discover the history of the Viscounty of Turenne through the riches of its capital! At 10am and 3pm. Meeting point at Turenne Tourist Office. Admission: €5, €2.50 for children aged 6 to 12, free for children under 6. Duration: 1h30.
Every first Friday of the month,La Combe de Job invites you to a tasting event in its Brive shop. This day will be a great opportunity to get together and share ideas on a common subject: gastronomy! From 11am to 1pm and from 5pm to 6.30pm.
- The Corrézienne Riviera at Guinguette Cartouche & Cravate, seafood tasting in a seaside spirit, without leaving Corrèze. From 12pm-11.30pm at Cartouche & Cravate.
Cancelled in the event of bad weather.
- Looking for something different? Join us at the Tours de Merle for a show entitled "Destins of knights": humour and action are the key words of this adventure show that takes you straight back to the time of the knights! At the end of the show, the actors invite children to try their hand at becoming knights of the Tours de Merle! At 11 am, 2.30 pm and 5 pm. Running time: 45 min. Full price: €8.00, Other price: €6.00 - Activity included with your admission ticket.
- To round off the week in style, enjoy a free, no-registration Lake Course! Come and discover and learn Zumba. Every Friday, from 18 July to 22 August, from 7pm to 8pm on the Plage des Peupliers.
- Gourmet evenings:
- Festive market in Saint-Robert from 7pm, village square
- Festi'Barbecues in Malemort. In the village you'll find traders and huts selling local produce, food trucks serving a variety of cuisines and a refreshment bar. Barbecues, tables and benches will be available. From 7pm at the Théâtre de Verdure (around the Town Hall), food market at the Corrézium. - From 7.30pm, in the Vallon d'Estivaux, enjoy an aperitif concert with the group Oxymore and Hope. Charcuterie and cheese boards available on reservation/Free admission. Voluntary participation for the artists.
Friday at the bandstand in Objat with Jean-Luc Caminade. Refreshments on site. From 9pm to 10.30pm at the bandstand in the municipal park. Free admission.
- As night falls, an open-air cinema at Place des Arcades in Rivet : "Donne-moi des ailes" by Nicolas Vanier. Free admission.
Saturday 2nd August
- Discover Brive's big market on the Place de la Guierle and under the Halle Georges Brassens. Another market is also held on Place Thiers on Saturday mornings (in front of the Halle Gaillarde).
- Saturdays with music: head to Esplanade Bernard Murat in Brive for a free concert by Duo Panama. French variety concert from 10am to 12pm.
Prehistory Festival at the Musée de l'Homme de Néandertal, Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August. These two days are dedicated to prehistory, with a host of free events for young and old alike: European prehistoric weapons shooting championship, guided tour, cave art workshop, sculpture workshop, children's storytelling and much more...
This weekend, Juillac is celebrating! Take advantage of the garage sale and book sale starting at 8am in the town centre. In the afternoon, there's free entertainment for children aged 4 to 9, with inflatables and electric draisies, as well as an archery initiation for children aged 8 and over. The day will close with a dance party hosted by DJ Sonolight 24, with fast food available on site.
- Visit the Templar Commandery in Varetz: The Mons Commandery in Varetz was occupied by the Templars from the 12th to the early 14th century, then by the Knights Hospitallers of the Order of Malta until the Revolution. Having become a private estate following its sale as national property during the Revolution and having belonged to several families, the site was not open to visitors until 2023. Visiting the site is now an exceptional opportunity, thanks to the new owner's authorisation to open it to the public.

- From 2.30pm to 4.30pm, come and try your hand at climbing at the Base Sports Loisirs Vézère. Suitable for all ages 7 and over. Book online or by telephone on 05 55 84 73 54. 16€/person (children and adults)
In Brive,meet up at L'Improviste for La Jardit Show at 4pm. La Jardit Show is the story of a gardener who's a bit off her rocker... She drains the currants from the lemon, thinks she's ready to reap the rewards of her efforts, but... nothing grows. Fortunately, it's thanks to the audience that everything is reborn: the Jardit finds her words, her shovel, and takes you on a journey of bittersweet, absurd and touching poetry.
- It's a show not to be missed! The Hasta Luego horse show in Brive. Recognised as one of the greatest families of horse trainers in Europe, the Hasta Luego company, Christophe Hasta-Luego, presents its brand new equestrian show.
At 7pm in the Jardins de la Guierle. Free admission.
Eclectica music festival in Segonzac: Orson Claeys combines jazz with oriental music and hip-hop. He interweaves various cultural influences and genres to create compositions that take the listener on a journey through a rich array of sounds and emotions. Prices: €11 to €15.
The Festival de Saint-Robert welcomes the Quatuor Modigliani. Over the past 20 years, these "four boys in the wind" have established themselves as a benchmark, their virtuosity confirmed at every concert. The quartet has won numerous awards since it was founded in 2003, and this 24/25 season it will be tackling the major challenge of recording all 16 of Beethoven's string quartets. At 9pm. Prices: €18 to €25.
Sunday 3 August:
- Numerous morning markets, including the famous Objat market and the Malemort market. Find out about all our markets HERE.
- Flea markets and garage sales:
- In Brive, under the Halle Brassens, from 8am to 5pm
- In Lissac-sur-Couzze, in the village, from 7.30am to 5pm. - Detox Sunday at Halle Gaillarde.
The real detox: free yoga class, no registration required, from 10am to 11am.
Then detox gaillarde: free concert from 12 noon to 2pm with Gecko. - Sadroc is celebrating this weekend, with inter-village games at 10am on Sunday: woodcutting, flipper race, champions' wall, giant wind-slide at the Faures pond. Trophies awarded at 6pm, followed by an aperitif. All weekend long: inflatable structure, games for children and guaranteed fun.
- Botanical walk in Parc des Perrières with Pauline Jardina, from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the end of Rue Chardin. Bookings required: pauline.jardina@gmail.com
Need some quiet time? Enjoy a moment of reading in the open air, comfortably seated in the gardens of the Château de Turenne at 5pm. A literary break where words resonate in harmony with the surrounding nature.
Fête votive de Lissac-sur-Couze: all-day garage sale and, from 6pm, a guinguette atmosphere with snacks and food-trucks. Street entertainment at 9pm, fireworks at 11pm and open-air disco from 11.30pm.
- Les Cours du Lac, plage,du Moulin: every Sunday at 7pm, come and enjoy a free, no-registration tai chi class.
