Festival de l’élevage: from good breeding to good eating

Join us on 23 and 24 August 2025 in Brive-La-Gaillarde for the 56th edition. It's a unique opportunity to discover more than a hundred breeders and producers and over 600 animals on a 15,000m2 site in the town centre. A giant farm in the heart of Brive!

An event to promote and defend local produce

The breeding festival from good breeding to good eating (formerly known as "Breeding and Gourmet Table Festival") is a local institution. By bringing the countryside to the heart of the town, it revives the tradition of the real fairs of yesteryear.

It's a chance for the general public to discover the finest animals selected from their breeds, and for professionals to meet and exchange ideas. There will be horse, poultry, alpaca, sheep, pig, Salers cow and bird shows.

The aim of the event is to promote and defend the quality of local produce and the expertise of the region's producers, to the delight of young and old alike.

Tip A large farm in the heart of Brive

A little girl strokes the muzzle of a Limousin cow

You've got to earn it to eat well. Go to the "livestock festival, from raising well eating well", at the end of August, in the centre of Brive, and discover the giant farm set up on site. The countryside comes to town. You'll see the most beautiful animals, you'll taste the milk coming out of the cow and you'll understand what it means to love your job when you're a farmer. Ah, the cow, it was worth it!
