Foire du livre 2025: La guerre et après (Musée Labenche)
BRIVE-LA-GAILLARDE
On 9 November 2025
The 2026 Brive Book Fair, taking place from 6 to 8 November, will follow the same format as last year, with one thing certain: the programme promises to be packed with events, and you certainly won’t have time to get bored!
Dominique Bona, of the Académie française, is chairing this 44th edition. She brings a profound perspective on literary creation and the influence of our language.
She advocates a French language that is vibrant, evolving and open to the French-speaking world, rather than a static one. Her choice of guests reflects her areas of interest: learning French, conflicts and wars, Iran, ancient myths, as well as happiness and new literary forms.
Dominique Bona also wishes to give prominence to young authors and writers from very different backgrounds. She believes that the richness of literature stems precisely from the clash of diverse, and sometimes discordant, voices.
Biography, a field she knows particularly well, will also feature, notably through a series dedicated to André Malraux, fifty years after his death. The Fair will explore various aspects of his life and legacy.
Finally, in the face of current challenges — the crisis in the book industry, the ubiquity of screens, artificial intelligence and the trend towards isolation — Dominique Bona hopes to make the Book Fair a space that brings people together around literature and the sharing of knowledge.
With its 2,500 m², this space will host comic books and children’s authors. Families will therefore be warmly welcomed. Events are also being planned.
La Guierle (Halle Georges Brassens)
This iconic venue at the Book Fair will host authors of general literature and, for the first time in 2026, the space will be expanded by 1,000 m² to ensure greater comfort for visitors.
Several venues in the town centre will host talks, performances and more, such as the theatre, the media library and the Ouvroir…
This year, the Brive Book Fair is teaming up with France’s leading radio station, RTL. A wide-ranging programme of editorial, radio and digital content will be rolled out: author interviews, literary features, writing competitions for schoolchildren, and on-location broadcasts… Laurent Ruquier, Augustin Trapenard, Jean-Alphonse Richard, Frédéric Beigbeder and other presenters will take part in live broadcasts and public recordings.
On Friday, Éric Silvestro and Jade will meet local residents at the RTL van from 12 noon to 2 pm. Jean-Alphonse Richard will present “L’Heure du crime” live from the “Chez Papi” café from 2 pm to 3 pm. Frédéric Beigbeder will record “Tous les goûts sont permis” at the Grand Théâtre from 4 pm to 5 pm, to be broadcast on Sunday 8 November from 8 pm to 9 pm. Éric Silvestro and Jade will then host “La Tournée d’RTL” live from the “Chez Papi” café from 8 pm to 9 pm, focusing on local life.
Not to mention the RTL roadshow in the city during the Book Fair.

Saturday 7 November at 9.00 pm at the Théâtre de Brive in the Espace Jean D’Ormesson. Admission is free.
