Jérôme Garcin, president of the 42nd edition of the Book Fair
Jérôme Garcin, writer and well-known host of the radio programme Le masque et la plume, will be chairing the 42nd edition of the Brive Book Fair from 8 to 10 November 2024.
Biography of Jérôme Garcin, President of the 2024 Book Fair
Journalist and writer Jérôme Garcin hosted Le masque et la plume, France Inter's cult programme, for 35 years (1989-2024). He also edited the cultural pages of the magazines l'Express and le Nouvel Obs.
In addition to his journalistic activities, Jérôme Garcin is the author of a number of award-winning books, including Pour Jean Prévost (Gallimard, 1994, Prix Médicis Essai), La Chute de cheval (Gallimard, 1998, Prix Roger Nimier) and Le Dernier Hiver du Cid (Gallimard, 2019, Prix des Deux Magots).
More recently, Jérôme Garcin was awarded the Prince Pierre de Monaco Prize in 2008 and the Grand Prix de littérature Henri-Gal de l'Institut de France in 2013 for his body of work.

Jérôme Garcin is inviting a dozen guests to take part in his programme, which he has designed to be highly literary, but also heavily influenced by literary criticism.
In addition to a major interview in which he will look back on his career as a writer and journalist, Jérôme Garcin has scheduled a number of meetings.
