Modern, quirky and traditional at the same time, Brive Tourisme has adopted the mustache from the 2010s onwards and has had it worn by everyone, without exception.

The history of the moustache

During the work carried out to create the Brive 100% Gaillarde brand platform, interviews were conducted with local people (socio-professionals from the tourism industry, businesses, elected representatives, residents) to find out what they thought was THE symbol of Gaillard, the one we could largely identify with. The thing that came up the most during these interviews was the Corrèze grandpa with his beret (or beret 😉 ) and mustache, who has a strong accent, speaks patois and rolls his "r "s in the old-fashioned way. So the mustache was the perfect symbol!

A unifying symbol

The idea behind the moustache is to offer locals and visitors alike something they can gather around, wear proudly and symbolise our light-hearted, fun-loving, offbeat state of mind. Wearing a moustache on your clothes or under your nose is a question of personality and, above all, a form of originality that reflects all the lightness of the gaillarde and asserts a form of freedom!
